// Support Developer / Junior Developer

Fathom are a leading MS development company based in Purley, Surrey. We are seeking a talented Microsoft Developer to join our clients award winning and growing team. This is a rare opportunity for the successful candidate to join a highly respected organisation.

£16,000 - £20,000

The Role

You will be responsible for working within the support team, assisting daily support issues by helping with de-bugging, testing and web application maintenance. You will be the first point of contact for the company, dealing with customer issues so it is essential that you have an excellent appreciation and approach to customer service in addition to a strong set of hands on technical skills.

These skills would include:

  • C# / ASP.Net
  • XML
  • HTML
  • CSS
  • JavaScript
  • SQL / T-SQL


The ideal candidate will have a relevant computing degree/HND coupled with a good understanding of SQL, HTML and at least one programming language (C++, C#, Java, Visual Basic, Visual Basic. Net, ASP, ASP. NET, PHP and/or Perl). Candidates will need to bring examples of their work/code to interview to illustrate and discuss their knowledge and understanding in any of the technologies mentioned above (university work and/or work from personal projects is acceptable).

// Web Applications Developer

Fathom are an application development company who are looking to recruit a dynamic, keen, talented Web Developer to join their creative team in our Purley office. Enthusiasm and a self-starter “can do” attitude are just as essential as experience.
Fathom offers the opportunity to work closely with our highly-skilled and dynamic team, on the cutting edge of Web Application development.

Technical skills must include:

  • Strong ASP.NET (with C#) to v.4.0
  • SQL Server 2005 and later (including T-SQL)
  • PHP / mySQL
  • Classic ASP scripting
  • Strong XHTML, Javascript & CSS


Prior experience of these technologies is required and applicants should be able to demonstrate this with past projects.

Preferably applicants will have:

  • Knowledge of SEO techniques
  • Knowledge of basic IIS / DNS configuration
  • Familarity in mySQL, Java, Web services would be advantageous


Other skills must include:

  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
  • Confidence to liaise closely with clients if required
  • Ability to work well as part of a team, sometimes to tight deadlines.


The successful applicant can expect to work on a wide variety of projects, websites and intranet-based applications, developed with both Microsoft and open source technologies. As part of the selection process you will be asked to complete a series of short programming tasks to assess your suitable to the role.

// Web Project Manager

One of our clients is seeking an experienced Project Manager / Web Manager / .NET manager / Web Developer to join their team. In this role, you will be solely responsible for overseeing one major client's various projects, with a team of three developers and reporting directly to the MD. Experience of the full project life cycle is necessary, as you will be client side to take all of the requirements as well as managing the design, development and delivery and close on all projects assigned.

Responsibilities include:

  • Running all project-related meetings (Internal and External)
  • Handle client and project related queries
  • Manage project-related finances
  • Set up project schedules, meetings and meet strict project deadlines/milestones
  • Participate in Management Meetings to report to other Management team members on the progress of projects, team members and issues
  • Run the weekly team meeting, to update the team on progress and set weekly tasks and deadlines
  • Closely manage and participate in Web Development tasks
  • Liaising with external suppliers for all project deliverables. These include copywriters, photographers and other freelance suppliers.


Candidates for the role of Project Manager / Web Manager / .NET manager / Web Developer must have the following:

    • ASP.net / MS SQL knowledge (preferred studied and qualified at degree level) and/or Web Development (ASP.net/MS SQL) experience
    • Are a natural team leader, personable, friendly and bring the best out of people in a working environment
    • Have excellent client-facing, communication and presentation skills/experience
    • Are highly organised
    • Have excellent time management skills

     

    Hours: Monday to Friday 9am-5.30pm (however you must be flexible to meet the need of the business)

    Salary: £28000 - £35000 p.a. DOE plus excellent benefits and career progression.
